Big Belli Positions Itself to Take Care of the Informational and Emotional Needs of Pregnant Women in Visual Storytelling Form
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 05, 2014 -- Big Belli is about babies and moms. When Dominique Debroux and her husband Christopher Henze were expecting their first child, they voraciously researched pregnancy and consumed what felt like anything and everything they could get their hands on about the process. Even though they were overwhelmed with the amount of information they found in books, brand literature, some videos, websites, and on blogs– they still couldn’t find compelling content in visual form. They wanted something informative that touched on the physical, medical, and emotional aspects of having a baby, as well as created a sense of authentic community. Henze was struck by an idea to move everything into visual form, anchored by a full-length documentary detailing the process. Big Belli was conceived.
Starting a family is a momentous event; both joyous and anxiety-ridden at the same time. Families are making life-changing decisions for themselves and their baby. Expectant moms, on a quest for information, become insatiable consumers of media-- considering anything that could contribute to the long-term health and well being of their newborn, from nutrition & wellness to advice on new products. These moms need and desire products and services they never before had to consider and the easier it is for them to find answers and feel comfortable with their choices, the better.
Henze and his wife realized it would be a good fit to involve the products and companies they trusted to help support this venture and sought help to make the connections. They called on Kate Rolston, a veteran of the mom and baby world who had founded a successful company, Real Savvy Moms, based on a similar sponsorship model, to lead the effort of connecting Big Belli with the right products and partners.
Big Belli has moved forward with creating content and partnering with trusted brands, companies and associations that can provide the support, information and guidance expectant families are looking for during this time of change. Their partnerships will empower parents-to-be with vetted information and give them peace of mind, preparing them for their 40-week journey, and letting them know they have a support system along the way.
At the center of Big Belli’s content effort is the movie 40 Weeks, the first documentary to delve into the weekly journey of pregnancy, following families along every one of pregnancy’s 40 weeks. Henze has assembled a group of experienced and respected professionals to film, score, edit and craft the movie in an intimate and personal manner. Executive producer Kurt Engfehr (“Bowling for Columbine”, “Fahrenheit 9/11”, “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead”), casting director Lisa Singer (“The Bachelorette”, “Queer Eye”), and editor April Merl (“2012: A Time for change,” “The Yes Men Fix the World”) join him in telling this story.
To ensure the accuracy of the information in the movie and website, 40 Weeks' key health partners include the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, the world's largest nursing authority dedicated to the health of women and babies, HealthyWomen.org, the nation’s leading independent health information source for women, and the March of Dimes, the most respected non-profit organization dedicated to helping moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
Big Belli’s is a parenting content, media, and social-networking brand whose mission is to be an authentic resource for parents – starting with pregnancy – committed to the health of both mother and child. By listening to what its community members need most, Big Belli provides a space for emotional connection, coupled with information, while growing an ecosystem of people and companies who can share experiences, expert advice and parenting resources.
Everything in the Big Belli world (community connection, e-commerce, health and wellness) will be supported by a constant stream of accompanying video, evolving and growing along with the Big Belli community of babies and moms.
