CarePoint Health Dine and Discover Lecture Series Presents: “Depression – What You Need to Know”
Hudson County, NJ (PRWEB) May 19, 2014 -- CarePoint Health is pleased to present Joanne Foster, Psychiatric Social Worker, and her Dine and Discover lecture: “Depression – What You Need to Know”. The community was invited for dinner and a fascinating presentation to learn about clinical depression and how the condition is treated. Joann Foster is a psychiatric social worker with over 15 years experience in behavioral health. She prides herself on her ability to bring mental health education to the most vulnerable in our community. This important event was held at Puccini’s Restaurant in Jersey City on May 8, 2014.
It is a challenge to recognize the many faces of clinical depression. When a depressive episode strikes, the world becomes a darker place. People experience symptoms such as low self-esteem, decreased energy, hopelessness, decreased motivation, and diminished interest or pleasure in activities. This Dine and Discover event is intended to educate and enlighten the community on this common but serious illness that can be treated.
The CarePoint Health Dine and Discover Dinner with Joanne Foster is part of an ongoing series that brings together community members to learn about the specialties, research and critical work being performed at Bayonne Medical Center, Hoboken University Medical Center and Christ Hospital. Each event will feature a prominent health care leader and will include a free dinner for attendees.
