EY Announces Next Step Living CEO is an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2014 Award Finalist in New England
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 20, 2014 -- EY today announced that Geoff Chapin, founder and CEO of home energy solutions provider Next Step Living, is a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2014 Award in the New England region. The awards program highlights entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
“I am very grateful to be selected as a finalist by EY and appreciate all the efforts of our 800 employees and hundreds of partners who share our goal: Make home energy efficiency and renewable energy easy, accessible and affordable,” said Chapin. “Together, we’re making a difference by working with homeowners to show that working as one, we can reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions to help sustain the planet.”
A panel of independent judges selected 35 finalists. Award winners will be announced on June 10 at an event at the Sheraton Boston. Now in its 28th year, the EY program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries throughout the world.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year national program. Award winners in several categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year national winner, will be announced in November. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
Next Step Living has served almost 75,000 households with energy-efficiency services ranging from home energy evaluations and weatherization to the latest in heating and cooling solutions. Most recently, it expanded its solar-power offerings with community solar, a new approach to renewable energy that makes solar power available to apartment dwellers, renters and homeowners whose roofs aren’t suitable for rooftop systems.
Earlier this spring, the company was named to the TiE Silicon Valley’s prestigious TiE50 “2014 Global Hot Technology Start-up Watch List” and ranked first as the fastest-growing private company in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal.
