DriverBoost Pro Receives Windows 8 Update

The program was developed to help Windows operating systems stay current with device driver updates. Device drivers are small bits of software that help hardware communicate with the core Windows OS.
Virtually every piece of a system’s hardware—from peripherals like a mouse and printer, to essentials like the video card and keyboard—utilizes driver software.
Out-of-date drivers can cause hardware to work more slowly or limit its functionality. Conflicting drivers can cause even worse problems.
“My work computer developed a case of ‘driver confusion’ after I hooked it up to my television set,” says Erin Walsh, Boost Software’s Media Director. “After that, it was stuck at the login screen. I had to save my kids’ pictures and other files with complicated retrieval software. Then I had to re-install Windows [OS]—as well as every program I had put on my computer!”
Driver confusion can also occur when there is more than one version of the same driver on a system. This often occurs when a computer owner downloads more than one version of a device driver from the hardware manufacturer’s website.
“In theory, it’s great that manufacturers make their products’ device drivers available on their websites,” says Amit Mehta, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Boost Software.
“But in practice, these driver pages aren’t very user-friendly. I’m proud to offer DriverBoost software and DriverBoost Pro software. Even our free version helps computer owners figure out which drivers they need. Otherwise, they risk playing Russian roulette with everything on their hard drive.”
DriverBoost software scans a computer and tells its owner which drivers need to be updated, while DriverBoost Pro updates the drivers on the owner’s behalf. The Pro version of the software can be set to search for drivers on a monthly, weekly, or daily basis.”
“We recommend that computer owners scan their systems at least every other week,” says Walsh. “But setting DriverBoost Pro to scan and install drivers every morning is probably the best way to update.”
DriverBoost software does not alter the original drivers in any way. The software exists purely to find the correct drivers for any given system, then install them without error.
