Working Toward a Vision of Prosperity and Self Reliance in Lake Providence, LA
Monroe, LA (PRWEB) May 22, 2014 -- Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (Northeast Delta HSA) is announcing today a Town Hall meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, at the Louisiana Center Against Poverty (LACAP) in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Northeast Delta HSA directs the operation of community-based programs to improve the quality of life of people with major mental illness, developmental disabilities and addictive disorders.
“Sometimes, people need a vision of how to go about strengthening their life,” said Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, Northeast Delta HSA Executive Director. “If you can envision something better, but you think it’s not within your reach, fear and hopelessness take over.”
Dr. Sizer will host the Town Hall along with local community leaders. The meeting will include open dialogue and a question and answer session among citizens and community leaders. Immediately after the Town Hall meeting, local health care providers will be on site to connect citizens with information about the mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability services available to them. At a later date, Northeast Delta HSA will return to Lake Providence as a catalyst to follow up with the community.
“This meeting will provide a forum for people to voice their concerns to their own community leaders,” he said. “A thriving, full life is available to people who want to take responsibility and engage in their own lives. We are actively working to ensure that citizens in northeastern Louisiana have access to quality services where they will be treated with dignity and respect.”
“We’re committed and we’re excited about this endeavor,” said East Carroll Police Jury President Joseph Jackson. “The community and leadership are on board. We want to continue to get the message out to the community so we can assist in providing much-needed mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability services to people.” Jackson also serves as a Delta Recovery Center Principle Partner and Substance Abuse Counselor. Delta Recovery is a treatment center that focuses on substance abuse services.

“This Town Hall meeting is another positive way to pull our community together and work toward the best health care outcomes for our citizens,” said East Carroll Parish Hospital Administrator LaDonna Englerth. “We are excited about the momentum this gathering will create.”
“It is with much enthusiasm that I welcome Dr. Sizer and Northeast Delta HSA to Lake Providence and East Carroll Parish,” said Carolyn Hunt, Executive Director of the Louisiana Center Against Poverty (LACAP). “We invite the public to join us for this Community Wide Meeting that will provide invaluable information on how we can better serve the community. The LACAP/NE Delta HSA partnership will assist us in moving forward to serve the citizens of this great area, providing services that are readily available. Dr. Sizer brings his expertise, knowledge, experience and resources that are so necessary to help us work together to build a healthier Lake Providence.”
