Bonita Bay Club Hosts the 2014 FSGA's 68th Florida Open Championship
Bonita Springs, Florida (PRWEB) June 21, 2014 -- The Florida Open Championship is open to Florida Golf Professionals and Amateurs who are residents of Florida. The estimated purse for the 2014 Championship is $75,000.
Individuals advancing to the Championship will play eighteen holes each on the Cypress and the Bay Island course on Friday, July 18th and Saturday, July 19th. The field will be cut to the low sixty and ties after thirty-six holes. The final eighteen holes will be played on the Cypress course.
Defending Champion, Tyler McCumber, of Ponte Vedra Beach, won the 67th Florida Open Championship shooting a 69-68-67--204 at Quail Valley Golf Club & Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club in Vero Beach.
Started in 1942, The Florida Open Championship has produced past champions that include Willie Turnesa, Bob Murphy, Gary Koch, Bruce Fleisher, John Huston, Dudley Hart, and Bart Bryant. This will be the fourth year the FSGA will be conducting this great championship.
