Lloyd Irvin Promotes AaRae Alexander to Rank of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt
Camp Springs, MD (PRWEB) June 24, 2014 -- Lloyd Irvin, head instructor at Lloyd Irvin’s Martial Arts Academy in Camp Springs, MD, was proud to promote one of students, AaRae Alexander to the rank of Team Lloyd Irvin Brown belt. Alongside Master Irvin for the pivotal promotion was Master Donnie Achnick, head kids and teens instructor at Team Lloyd Irvin.
AaRae Alexander was fresh off winning the women's purple belt lightweight division at the 2014 BJJ World Championships before receiving her Brown belt. This is a major accomplishment for the young lady, who has been training over ten years at Lloyd Irvin’s Martial Arts Academy, starting with the Lloyd Irvin’s Kids Summer Camp program at age 9.
“I started in the summer camp program, and now Team Lloyd Irvin is like my second family. I love being in a positive environment and surrounding myself with people that push me to do my best in all aspects of my life,” said AaRae.
On her way to Brown belt, AaRae, 19, has won 6 IBJJF World Championships: 4 titles as blue belt juvenile, 2012 blue belt adult female, and 2014 purple belt adult female. She’s also won multiple NAGA and Grapplers Quests championships. Alexander is entering her junior year at the University of Maryland College Park as an engineering major.
