edWeb.net and Triumph Learning Partner for Professional Learning Community
Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) July 09, 2014 -- Triumph Learning, producer of critically acclaimed K-12 texts and interactive digital tools, is partnering with edWeb.net, a professional learning and social network for the education community, to present a free professional learning community, Assessment for Learning.
The goal of this professional learning community is to provide ideas and resources for teachers to help them with instruction and formative assessment. It will also help teachers use technology to change the process of student assessment to improve, differentiate and personalize instruction. Assessment for Learning is a forum for educators to come together online to engage, innovate, and discuss best practices for the classroom.
“This professional learning community is an opportunity for Triumph Learning to hear directly from educators and give them the tools and skills they need to succeed in the classroom,” said Mike Morley, publisher for Triumph Learning. “By sharing our expertise, we will be assisting educators in developing the strategies they need to provide more effective lessons.”
This collaborative community will host webinars and online discussions to help educators connect and collaborate on the topic of using assessments to improve student learning. The webinars will be hosted by assessment experts who will assist educators in implementing assessment programs that benefit both teachers and students.
Triumph Learning's mission is to improve teaching and learning through a powerful blend of supplemental and state-customized solutions via student resources, teacher support and professional development opportunities. Triumph Learning assists teachers in more than 36,000 schools across America and will continue to support educators by providing content and resources to the Assessment for Learning community on edWeb.
“It is important for us to provide professional learning and support for educators who are looking to gain insight and resources to help them positively impact student learning,” said Lisa Schmucki, founder and CEO of edWeb.net. “We are delighted to collaborate on this initiative with Triumph Learning.”
This collaborative professional learning community will offer a three-part webinar series and educators are invited to register for the first webinar, Understanding and Implementing Formative Assessment, which will be held on July 29th at 2pm Eastern Time. Register here.
