Chantilly, VA (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- The staff at Moss Building & Design celebrates their 13th anniversary this month since being founded by Co-Owners Pete Hampel and his son, Jason Hampel, on July 23, 2001. The family-owned company grew with the addition of Co-Owner and Jason’s brother-in-law, Justin Schopp, in 2003. Moss has grown to include a home improvement division, Moss Home Services, in 2010 and has become an award winning and innovative home improvement company in the Northern VA region.
The owners appreciate looking back on all that has been accomplished through Moss and are especially proud of the culture that pervades both the staff at Moss and their clients.

Moss Building & Design was named after Pete’s father, Paul Francis William Hampel Jr.whose nickname was “Moss.” This nickname came from his four children and is derived from the fish, mossbunker. Mossbunker was bait used in crab traps during family vacations to the Jersey Shore. As the children were occasionally called “bunkie” (a 1940’s term meaning friend), it was concluded by the children that their father must be “Moss”.
Moss continues to grow and now has a well established reputation for excellence in remodeling and home services. The customer service and design awards that Moss has received speaks to their superior customer care, a number one priority for the company.
