Industry Leading Supplier of Antique, Reclaimed, and Natural Building Materials Is Pleased to Be a Part of Arnold and Winnie Palmer’s Commitment to Nature and Education

Winnie Palmer, wife of golf legend Arnold Palmer, had often dreamt of creating a special place for people to learn about, appreciate, and experience nature. The Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve is the result of that dream and the hard work of a dedicated project team

Appalachian Antique Hardwoods was selected to be a key member of the project team that included Mr. Arnold Palmer, as well as experts in historic American design, construction, and building materials.

Zac Guy, President of Appalachian Antique Hardwoods, began meeting with designers, builders, and members of the project team and Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve staff. The structure was destined to become an interpretative center, an education facility, and a gathering place, so an interior was needed that stayed true to historical building techniques by using the reclaimed and natural materials that Appalachian Antique Hardwoods is well known for.

Appalachian Antique Hardwoods WeatherPlank Reclaimed Barnsiding, Pioneer Reclaimed Oak Hardwood Flooring, and other select materials were all chosen to be a part of this special project.

Zac Guy comments that, “…our employees here at Appalachian Antique Hardwoods took great pride in finding just the right materials that would become part of such a worthwhile project, and we thoroughly enjoyed working with the excellent project team, Arnold Palmer, and the dedicated staff at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve. The Nature Reserve is a tremendous asset to the region, and we encourage all to visit it soon.”
