California Based Company Attempts to Improve the Environment by Cutting Down Beauty Product Waste
Brea, California (PRWEB) August 07, 2014 -- Health & Beauty Product Exchange is a newly launched company based in Los Angeles, California. Their goal is to simply help reduce chemical contamination of their local area. They are attempting to do this by reducing the overuse and waste of health and beauty products. The Health & Beauty Product Exchange is currently of, which are either donated or exchanged by local residents. Joining the program will be completely free and will be made available to residents of Los Angeles, as well as, neighboring cities. Aside from donations, the program will work on a type of: you give a product to get a product.
"Health & Beauty Product Exchange (H&B ProdEx) is an environmental pilot program, established in Los Angeles, California to provide a database for registered users to exchange or donate their unwanted and/or minimally used Health & Beauty products," says a representative from the company.
Currently the creators of the H&B ProdEx program are looking to gain non-profit status under the name H&B ProdEx Inc. In order to accomplish this, they will have to file various types of legal paperwork with the state, as well as, the Internal Revenue Service. A non-profit status would allow the company to put all of the finances that it gains towards the improvement of the program. This would include any and all donations that they would receive.
A representative for the company was quoted as, "H&B ProdEx program is operated free-of-cost for residents of Los Angeles and surrounding cities, by our pending status non-profit organization: H&B ProdEx Inc. Our Mission is to help reduce chemical contamination in Southern California's landfills and bodies of water, by sustaining as many unused and / or minimally used H&B products as we possibly can."
In order to accomplish all of their goals, the creators of the Health & Beauty Product Exchange need to raise funds. These funds will be used to pay for the legal fees associated with filing for tax exempt status both with the state and the federal government, the development of a website and any and all operation expenses. They have calculated these costs to be approximately $8,000.00 and are currently promoting a campaign on Indiegogo to help them raise the funds. Like many other crowdfunding campaigns, they will be rewarding their backers with various perks from reusable grocery bags to t-shirts.
