The technical session ‘Semantic Metadata, Auto-classification and Taxonomies’ will be hosted by David McBarron, Principal Consultant at Concept Searching. With over 25 years of IT experience, Mr. McBarron is responsible for pioneering work in cloud computing, big data, and SharePoint and Office 365 adoption. He currently provides consulting expertise and technical experience on large SharePoint and Office 365 deployments, with an emphasis on metadata generation and taxonomic classifications.

This informative session will take a deep dive into metadata, auto-classification, and taxonomy technologies, providing the roadmap for deployment, and discussing management and maintenance challenges in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. Attendees will understand what is needed to integrate and manage SharePoint, Office 365, and OneDrive for Business using these technologies.

Steve Mann, Vice President of Sales at Concept Searching, has over 14 years’ experience in the IT industry, with a proven track record in consulting, solutions delivery, sales and project management in business-to-business environments. Mr. Mann will be presenting the session ‘SharePoint and Office 365 Information Governance and Compliance Challenges’. He is experienced in Microsoft technologies, including SharePoint, and in providing guidance on best practices, technical advice, and solutions to address a wide range of business challenges, leveraging a combination of Microsoft and third party technology solutions.

This session will explore information governance and compliance issues in the cloud, as well as in SharePoint. Focusing on the business issues, it will provide attendees with an in-depth understanding of information governance challenges in records management, data privacy, search, eDiscovery and FOIA, litigation support, and migration as they apply to Office 365, as well as SharePoint on-premise.
