The Plutus Awards - presented by Consumerism Commentary - annually recognizes the best in personal finance as part of FinCon14.

We are especially interested in the evolving nature of blogging, which is why we've created separate categories for podcasts and for video shows. Personal finance bloggers are creating a lot of exciting content, and we want to be able to showcase that.

The Plutus Awards, the premier awards show for personal finance bloggers, has announced that it is once again accepting nominations for personal finance blogs.

Designed to recognize the best in the personal finance blogosphere, the Plutus Awards accepts nominations from the general public, as well as bloggers, at the web site http://www.plutusawards.com. The Plutus Awards are presented live at the FinCon Expo, a major financial media conference.

This year, the Plutus Awards committee is please to announce additional categories. "We strive to make the Plutus Awards inclusive of as many in the personal finance blogging community as possible," says Luke Landes, the founder of the Plutus Awards and the popular web site Consumerism Commentary. "We are especially interested in the evolving nature of blogging, which is why we've created separate categories for podcasts and for video shows. Personal finance bloggers are creating a lot of exciting content, and we want to be able to showcase that."

Finalists in most categories are determined by the public nominations, a process that garners a lot of interest in the online financial community, including product and service providers. "We look for input from the financial blogging community, financial media, and the general public as we select winners," Landes says. "We really like the the community to feel a sense of ownership in the Plutus Awards."

After finalists are selected, they are then voted on by a committee of bloggers. This year is the largest committee yet, with more than 30 blog owners ready to honor their peers. Special awards, like the Lifetime Achievement Award and the People's Choice Award, will also be presented.

Nominations are being accepted until 11:59 pm Eastern on August 25, 2014. The Plutus Awards, which are sponsored by USAA, Experian, Fidelity, and Scottrade, will be presented on September 20, 2014 at the FinCon Expo in New Orleans.
