Quincy Bioscience Recognized in Inc. 500|5000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies for Third Consecutive Year
Madison, WI (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- Quincy Bioscience, a Wisconsin-based biotech company, has been included in the Inc. 500|5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in the nation, for the third consecutive year. Ranking at No. 2,941, Quincy Bioscience is honored again to be grouped with the most successful businesses in the United States.
Quincy Bioscience is manufacturer of Prevagen brand supplements, which contain the patented ingredient apoaequorin – a protein originally discovered in jellyfish and clinically shown to improve memory. Sales of regular strength Prevagen have been the driver for revenue growth as the market demand for cognitive health products continues to expand.
Prevagen has been the nation’s No. 1 selling branded brain health supplement in chain pharmacies including Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid, for over a year-and-a-half, according to Nielsen data.
Quincy Bioscience also manufactures and markets Prevagen Extra Strength and Prevagen Professional which contain 20 mg and 40 mg of apoaequorin respectively. Each is designed to reach various target markets such as independent health food stores and healthcare practitioners.
The company also launched NeuroShake, an apoaequorin containing food product, which appeals to the growing number of consumers whose goal is to eat healthy by consuming blended ingredients of a shake smoothie.
President and co-founder of Quincy Bioscience, Mark Underwood commented on the achievement of making the Inc. 500|5000 list three years in a row saying, “There has been a groundswell of a response to Prevagen.” He said, “I think the key to its popularity is because the product benefits are so often shared from one person to another. There are a lot of people scared about memory loss and they are looking for a solution. It has been a great Blessing to see the business grow as we help people.”
