activprayer Launches Project to Inspire One Million Dedications
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) September 09, 2014 -- After receiving angel investment from two executives at Reebok International, start-up activprayer is launching a social website, a product line, and a national network of fitness clubs to help people discover, co-create, and share actions that move both the body and the spirit through a new vision of sports and fitness—one in which sports and fitness are at the service of deeper values and life goals.
The community behind the movement has already dedicated thousands of actions as activprayers. “These activprayers are inspired actions dedicated to intentions greater than self,” says co-founder Luke Burgis. “They include a world-record setting pull-up attempt that raised over $39,000 for a young girl with Cystic Fibrosis.” The community’s first milestone is to achieve one million dedicated actions by 2017.
On October 23, 2014, in conjunction with the launch of activprayer.com, company co-founder and fitness industry veteran David Jack will host a 4-day fitness industry conference called the ACTIVEIGHT Experience for leading coaches, trainers, and fitness enthusiasts at the company’s new headquarters in Phoenix, AZ.
As part of this experience, activprayer will also open the doors to its flagship training facility, The ACTIVLAB at Arizona Grand Resort & Spa. At the conclusion of the weekend, activprayer will entrust its message to industry peers who can bring the principles and culture to communities around the country. A selected number of coaches will be chosen as “Activators,” or leaders of the movement in their community.
“These Activator coaches will not only be the best in the business at what they do, but coaches who share a vision of sports and fitness that goes beyond what happens on the field and in the gym,” says Burgis. “activprayer is action that touches the core of who we are and what we want to be.”
activprayer is planning to partner with athletes, coaches, non-profits, universities, and business organizations to transform sports and fitness and support the personal intentions of the communities.
A recent study conducted at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio has shown preliminary decreases in stress, anxiety and depression among students who participated in activprayer programs during a semester. The ACTIVEIGHT
Experience will mark the opening up of these partnership opportunities, with invitations to members of local communities and national organizations to be a part of the co-creation. activprayer co-founder David Jack described the ACTIVEIGHT Experience as “our way of bringing like-minded fitness professionals together in the spirit of discovering, co-creating and activating the best in each other so we can do the same for the clients and communities we serve.”
