A number of new McLeod Software products are being highlighted this week the company’s 2014 Users’ Conference in Washington D.C.

McLeod Software is now in the 5th straight year of double digit sales and revenue growth. A lot of this growth is, without a doubt, the result of the continued investment in technology from the trucking and logistics industry. Another contributor to this organic growth for the company is McLeod’s high level of investment in product development during this period, which has started to pay great dividends for the company.
A number of new McLeod Software products are being highlighted this week the company’s 2014 Users’ Conference in Washington D.C. Out of the wide range of enhanced functions and new capabilities from the last year’s new product development, several stand out.
Pricing and Bid Management
McLeod’s Pricing and Bid Management Module is an integral part of the LoadMaster and PowerBroker systems that gives users a set of tools to take in bids and RFP’s, and analyze the opportunities in the package. With sophisticated import and export tools, this product makes it very easy to bring the bid or RFP into the customer’s McLeod system, freeing them from a maze of spreadsheets. Once imported, the systems brings in current rates and pricing history from a number of sources, both internal and external, along with the customer’s internal measurements of profitability and network needs for all those lanes to help make pricing decisions quickly. The system not only reduces the labor and time involved in responding to bids and RFP’s, it gives the user extensive analytics to help them make the right pricing decisions.
McLeod’s new Dedicated Billing module is designed to automate many of the labor-intensive tasks that most dedicated contract carriers face. McLeod built this software tool to be highly configurable, so that it can accommodate the wide range and diversity seen in requirements for the billing scenarios and billing formats found in dedicated customer contracts. The system also supports a variety of revenue sharing calculations for outside freight. Those shared revenue calculations tend to be unique for each of these agreements too. This new module for the LoadMaster system saves time and increases dedicated billing accuracy, while making the process quicker and easier for carriers who have dedicated fleets.
FlowLogix is McLeod’s new visual workflow tool, which enables customers to construct their own automated workflows using a visual process editor. FlowLogix is used to automate real world business processes, and help customers leverage automation to speed up the velocity of their processes, move to management by exception, and save labor while reducing non-value added activity. FlowLogix is set apart by the fact that, while it is native to McLeod systems, it can also be integrated with external systems and processes, even those that cross company boundaries.
Logix eForms is a new product, built with McLeod FlowLogix, which allows customers to create their own forms, including contracts and rate confirmations. Customers can transmit those forms electronically to customers, carriers, or other trading partners, allowing the receiving party to populate any necessary information in the form and sign the document electronically from any email client, including mobile devices. This new product is killing fax machines, printers, and paper all across the country, as these documents move from paper copies to purely electronic records that are tightly integrated with McLeod systems.
The McLeod Customer Relationship Management Module is an integral part of the McLeod LoadMaster and PowerBroker systems. It performs all of the typical CRM functions that outside systems deliver, but has a distinct advantage: its integral nature means that it works within the menus of the McLeod system with the same master data, eliminating the headaches associated with duplicate data that every integrated CRM system brings. McLeod CRM excels at helping companies organize, orchestrate, and manage marketing campaigns. It gives sales managers deep insight into every aspect of the sales organization and each sales person’s performance. It empowers sales people by bringing all of the information about a customer or prospect into one place, allowing them access to it all from the road via mobile devices.
For some time, McLeod has offered LoadMaster LTL as a solution for asset-based LTL carriers. This year we introduced an entirely new module for PowerBroker that brings a complete set of LTL brokerage capabilities into the system. PowerBroker LTL includes the ability to give a logistics company’s customers LTL rating, quotes, and ordering through the same system used for truckload brokerage, and it makes those capabilities available through the same customer internet portal for the shipper customers.
FMS Dock Scheduling
The McLeod Freight Management Solution has a new Dock Scheduling module as part of its integrated functionality. This tool makes appointment scheduling easier, and includes visual tools to help planners with dock door scheduling.
McLeod Carrier-Broker Exchange
The McLeod Carrier-Broker Exchange continues to grow. This system anonymously aggregates lane rate information, from the McLeod customers who participate, producing a new high quality lane rate index only available to those customers. Brokers can also offer loads to the community of LoadMaster customers through the load board capability in the Carrier-Broker Exchange, knowing that the potential carriers who all run McLeod Loadmaster are some of the best companies in the industry.
McLeod Anywhere Mobile Applications
Four years ago, McLeod unveiled new Mobile Applications for the Apple iPhone and iPad plus all Android devices. These applications run natively on the mobile device and interact with the customer’s McLeod LoadMaster or PowerBroker systems. The growth and acceptance of this product has been overwhelming, with over 100 active McLeod customer companies and literally thousands of individual users currently employing the mobile apps every day to help them run their companies and perform their most important work when they are away from their desks. The native mobile application, now in its 6th release is a full-featured interactive client on the LoadMaster or PowerBroker system, truly making it “McLeod Anywhere” for those companies who deploy it.
New McLeod “Customer Branded Apps”
Today the company announced a new product, “Branded Apps” for McLeod PowerBroker and LoadMaster customers. These branded apps will be available in the first quarter of 2015. Branded Apps mean that each carrier or logistics company can put their own private branded apps in the respective mobile application stores for Apple iOS and Google Android users. Their app will offer the same functions that their current McLeod system’s internet portal already allows for those customers, carriers, and drivers.
This means the customers, carriers, and drivers working with the LoadMaster or PowerBroker user company can obtain their own login, and perform a wide variety of functions from this new native app on their mobile device. Drivers can check on settlements and upload documents, carriers can see load offers, upload trip documents, and make their status check calls through the app, customers can enter their orders and track the status of the loads, or see their current invoices.
McLeod believes that by enabling all of their customers to have their own branded apps in the marketplace for use on their customers’, carriers’, and drivers’ own smart devices is an essential step in helping them become the Connected Enterprise.
