Receives prestigious When Work Works Award

2014 When Work Works Award

I’m proud that Caliper is recognized for an award I very much believe in, and even prouder knowing the whole team is feeling the positive effects of a flexible, trusting workplace.

Caliper, an internationally recognized talent management consulting firm based in Princeton, NJ, has been honored once again with the When Work Works Award for making work-life balance a priority, an approach that has allowed Caliper to increase business and employee success.

Caliper’s commitment to work-life balance allows employees to meet both work and family commitments effectively. As a result, turnover is minimal and employee engagement is at an all-time high.

“At Caliper, our primary mission is to help clients engage their employees by placing them in a role and an environment that they love,” said Dr. Herb Greenberg, PhD., founder and CEO of Caliper. “This honor, again, is proof we’re not only recommending approaches to enhance workplace effectiveness and employee satisfaction, but also living it. I’m proud that Caliper is recognized for an award I very much believe in, and even prouder knowing the whole team is feeling the positive effects of a flexible, trusting workplace.”

This prestigious award, part of the national When Work Works project administered by the Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), recognizes employers of all sizes and types across the country.

The award is the result of a rigorous assessment. Work sites must first qualify in the top 20% of the country based on a nationally representative sample of employers. Two-thirds of the evaluation of applicants comes from an employee survey. Applicants are evaluated on six research-based ingredients of an effective workplace: opportunities for learning; a culture of trust; work-life fit; supervisor support for work success; autonomy; and satisfaction with earnings, benefits, and opportunities for advancement — all factors associated with employee health, well-being, and engagement.

“These employers are making work work in innovative and inspiring ways and set an example for employers both nationally and internationally,” said Ellen Galinsky, president of FWI.

“The When Work Works Award recognizes organizations that foster a culture of workplace flexibility and effectiveness, which gives them a competitive advantage. Their practices set them apart from other organizations,” said Lisa Horn, director of SHRM’s Workplace Flexibility Initiative.

Trish O’Brien, Caliper’s Director of Human Resources said, “Our branding of the Caliper Cares program, which houses programs under the umbrellas of wellness, work-life balance, and corporate social responsibility, well demonstrate Caliper’s commitment to its employees and the surrounding society. We are grateful for a work force that embraces these programs, most especially our charitable endeavors which have helped less fortunate individuals both locally and internationally.”
