American Council of the Blind of Ohio Adopts sitecues to Enhance Usability of Website
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- sitecues by Ai Squared, the makers of the ZoomText family of products and Window-Eyes, announced a partnership with The American Council of the Blind of Ohio (ACBO) This new partnership with sitecues by Ai Squared will ensure ACBO’s website goes beyond compliance by making the website content easier to see, hear, and use.
ACBO has taken great pride in developing an accessible website that complies with the globally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These efforts will allow users of assistive technology to have equal access to digital information. But studies have shown that less than 5 percent of people who could benefit from assistive technology have the tools they need to be successful. Adding sitecues to the ACBO website will help bridge this divide by offering built-in zoom and speech tools.
“With this partnership, ACBO not only demonstrates a commitment to helping its audiences address challenges using the web; it also hopes to inspire other organizations to follow its lead. With one simple change to its website, ACBO gives each visitor the ability to customize the user experience, making it easier to read, hear, and complete tasks. It’s like giving a free assistive technology to every website visitor,” said Marc Zablatsky, vice president and general manager of Ai Squared.
“As we implement online registration for our upcoming annual conference and convention, the American Council of the Blind of Ohio is thrilled to partner with sitecues and offer our visitors built-in tools that will enhance the usability of the registration process as well as the other important content on our website,” said Katie Frederick, executive director of ACBO.
