iPrevail provides a uniquely engaging option for even the most reluctant care seekers.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 03, 2014
As a U.S. Navy F-18 pilot, iPrevail’s founder Richard Gengler saw firsthand the enormous need for mental health resources in the military and among veterans. He founded iPrevail and its flagship products VetsPrevail and WarriorsPrevail to meet that need.
iPrevail provides web-based, personalized mental health care and peer support for depression, PTSD, substance abuse and many other mental health challenges common in military and civilian populations. Built in partnership with the National Science Foundation and leading researchers, iPrevail’s technology platform is clinically effective, but costs a tiny fraction of traditional therapy.
In the most recent clinical trial conducted at Rush University Medical Center, iPrevail’s platform demonstrated clinical effectiveness equivalent to face-to-face therapy in reducing the symptoms of PTSD and depression. Following two successful clinical trials, tens of thousands of users, and a national contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs, iPrevail is now bringing its solution to the private sector.
Mental illness affects 58 million people or nearly 1 in 4 Americans annually. Despite this staggering prevalence, less than one-third of adults with mental illness receive the care they need. With its interactive cognitive behavioral therapy, peer support, online communities, and game-like incentives, iPrevail provides a uniquely engaging option for even the most reluctant care seekers. Several tailored products are being launched in the private sector, including iPrevail (for employees), StudentsPrevail, and MomsPrevail.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of The Bunker and think a veteran-focused incubator is a much needed resource,” said Richard Gengler, CEO of iPrevail. “Given our veteran roots, the Bunker is an ideal partner to help iPrevail reach more veterans, active duty military members, and ultimately bring this proven technology to the private sector.”
iPrevail has the potential to dramatically change the economics of mental health care in the U.S. iPrevail costs less than 2% of traditional mental health care, making it an attractive adjunct to traditional care with the potential to generate large cost savings for organizations managing the mental health care of large populations.
“iPrevail is poised to disrupt the behavioral health care space with a highly effective, cost-efficient solution. We welcome Rich and the iPrevail team to The Bunker and look forward to helping accelerate their success,” said Todd Connor, CEO of The Bunker.
