Smyth Jewelers Sponsors Fourth Successful Diamond Dash in Annapolis
Timonium, MD (PRWEB) October 03, 2014 -- Smyth Jewelers sponsors an annual event for the Baltimore metro area called the Diamond Dash, and this past September marked the fourth successful year of the Dash. Smyth Jewelers partners up with other local businesses around Baltimore and Annapolis for the event, and the store provides the grand prize to the winners of the Dash: a diamond ring by designer jeweler Uneek, valued at $10,000. This year’s event was held on September 13 at Smyth Jeweler’s Annapolis store, and Marketing Director Ruthann Carroll states that the store prepared for the event for well over a month.
The Diamond Dash requires that participants be over the age of 18, and that participants sign up in pairs. Each pair was given clues via text messages to their mobile phones, and each clue brought them closer to the ring. One happy couple successfully found the Uneek ring, and every participant received a free t-shirt to wear throughout the event as well.
Smyth Jewelers is honored to be such a significant part of the Diamond Dash, and Carroll notes that such widespread community participation, like that which is required to organize and manage the event, is what makes the Dash so successful. The event draws both Annapolis residents and participants from all over the Baltimore metro area; not only does it bring the community together, but it showcases the rich history that Annapolis has to offer, and many local businesses benefit from the influx of visitors.
Smyth Jewelers also notes that the Diamond Dash was a great way for the store to celebrate its 100th year in business; as a family-owned business from the very start, the store hasn’t lost sight of the importance of community participation, despite becoming perhaps the best-known -– and the largest -– jewelry store in Baltimore.
“The Diamond Dash has generated a lot of excitement and business in Annapolis,” Carroll states, “and this event confirms that Smyth Jewelers is still the premier destination for engagement rings and wedding bands.” Despite having “the largest selection of engagement rings, bridal sets, and loose diamonds on the East coast,” the staff at Smyth Jewelers is still proud to be part of community events like the Diamond Dash.
