The 2nd Central Asia and Caspian Oil & Gas Security Forum to take place in Almaty on 3rd-4th March, 2015
Almaty, Kazakhstan (PRWEB UK) 13 October 2014 -- Following a well-received launch in April 2014, IRN is delighted to announce that the 2nd CACOGS 2015 (Central Asia and Caspian Oil & Gas Security Forum) will be held on the 3rd – 4th March, in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
This Forum will address the security challenges posed by fraught labour relations, tensions with communities in proximity to oil operations, poor communication networks between state security services and oil companies and cyber-attacks which are regrettably now widespread and recurrent. Furthermore, the growing threat of terrorism and increasing theft of oil and gas as well as production equipment means all security planning for the oil and gas sector must be diligently revised in light of the evolving threats.
The inaugural CACOGS Forum was the first and only senior level meeting covering security issues within the oil and gas industry in Central Asia and the Caspian. The first edition of the forum was opened by SOCAR at the iconic Flame Towers Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, and was chaired by the Head of Security of the North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC).
Previous speakers included Senior Officials from the Ministry of Oil of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, BP, Maersk Oil, TANAP, KazMunayGas, TengizChevrOil, GE Oil & Gas, MOL Group and others. Amongst the companies in attendance were Chevron, Baker Hughes, Statoil Azerbaijan, GEA Absheron, CNPC, and many others.
Taking place under the Chatham House Rule, the 2nd Annual Forum will be a discreet meeting exclusively focused on the regional security considerations for the oil and gas industry.
