Partners of Top Three Startup Accelerators to Judge AngelHack’s Global Demo Day
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 -- On October 30th, 2014, AngelHack is hosting its third annual Global Demo Day, the culminating event of the HACKcelerator prgram, where the top one percent of developers and investors from all over the world will gather for a real life Shark Tank.
This year, Global Demo Day will be held at the University of San Francisco’s Presentation Theater. Judges for this year include representatives from the worlds top three startup accelerators: Katarina Manalac, Partner at Y Combinator, Don Loeb, Vice President of Corporate Development of Techstars and Bedy Yang, Managing Partner with 500 Startups.
The opening ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m., with pitches starting shortly after. During the presentations, the founders will make their case for seed funding to over 150 tier-one investors. They’ll also be revealing the tech industry and startup culture’s future.
“When you come to Global Demo Day, you’re not just seeing what the best coders in the world are capable of doing,” said Sabeen Ali, Co-Founder and CEO of AngelHack. “You’re getting a front-row seat to the future of tech. These teams are a bellwether for the direction tech is taking - where they’re going now, the industry will follow.”
The HACKcelrator program teaches AngelHack hackathon winners to take their ideas and flesh them out into full-fledged startups. Over 30% of HACKcelerator graduates secure funding, and several have been accepted into prestigious startup accelerators like Y Combinator, Techstars and 500 Startups.
Two HACKcelerator graduates were acquired by Google this year: SlickLogin (from the 2013 batch), and Appetas (from 2012). In addition, another team, Osper (from 2012), was able to raise over $10 million in funds.
