Food Safety is Discussed in a New "Champions of Industry" Segment with host Jimmy Johnson
(PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- An upcoming segment of the award winning Public Television series, Champions of Industry, will present information on the topic of food safety. The "Champions of Industry "segment is hosted by former National Football League head coach and Super Bowl winner, Jimmy Johnson.
The segment will provide viewers with the latest in food safety information, statistics and techniques. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 6 Americans (48 million) experiences sickness from foodborne illness each year. Some of these unfortunate Americans had to be hospitalized and some even perished. This is primarily due to the improper handling of food, poor storage methods and contamination. The motivation for airing a Champions of Industry episode on this subject is to educate viewers about how to properly store and handle food to prevent future foodborne illnesses. Additionally, it will be featuring food manufacturers who are able to display the industrial processes in place to ensure consumer safety.
Champions of Industry is individually distributed to an array of Public Television stations throughout the United States of America by means of a satellite uplink. The program is in no way affiliated with PBS. This award winning series joins forces with experts from all over the world to generate premier content for television viewers.
