He co-founded The Procurement Centre in 1996, which provided seasoned and experienced consultants to businesses in the industry. Following its acquisition in 2002, Engel spent the next 10 years as the Senior Practice Leader responsible for building a SCM consulting and staffing practice on a global basis. He has published numerous articles in various industry periodicals and has been a frequent speaker for the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and other professional organizations.
