Octane Fitness’ New xRide® Recumbent Elliptical Line Adds Workout Options with SmartLink™
Brooklyn Park, Minn. (PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- After reinventing seated exercise with the creation of the unprecedented xRide recumbent elliptical in 2008, Octane Fitness, LLC, has launched its new xRide series for home use, now featuring compatibility with Octane’s SmartLink app.

The three new xRide recumbent ellipticals feature an intuitive console that simultaneously displays all workout data, so users don’t have to toggle between screens to view progress. On the xR6xi model, Octane’s exclusive SmartLight technology shows exercisers how hard they are working, if they are in their target heart rate zone and when to prepare for the next interval during a Workout Booster. And exercisers who want to multi-task can take advantage of several placement options for a tablet.
The xR6xi is compatible with SmartLink, Octane’s intelligent, free app that connects to and controls the elliptical from an iPad®. Users choose from four workout categories – Lose Weight, Feel Better, Get Stronger and Athletic Performance – and specify a 30-, 60- or 90-day program, and SmartLink creates customized workouts geared toward exercisers’ goals, recalibrating if necessary to ensure progress.
SmartLink also adds coaching to the X-Mode™, Chest Press and Leg Press Workout Boosters to help exercisers focus on proper form during each interval.
For convenience, SmartLink can run in the background, so exercisers can watch a movie, surf the Internet or send email during workouts – while SmartLink keeps running. Bluetooth® 4.0 connects SmartLink to the xRide, as well as to other devices, such as heart rate monitors.
Exercisers can enter their individual data, favorite workouts and preferred feedback display into the app. Workout results are recorded in the app, so users can monitor progress and boast on social networks with the social share function. Be Fit tips and instructional videos on various Octane workouts are also included.
Free app updates add greater workout variety over time, helping exercisers to stay motivated.

Accommodating every exerciser, the Active Seat Position™ on the xRide has multiple height and tilt adjustments for comfortable customization.
Octane’s signature PowerStroke™ technology results in 23% more calories burned and 343% more glute activation than on a recumbent bike. The patented MultiGrip handlebars offer several positions to maximize comfort and fully engage the upper body for a total-body challenge, and stationary foot pegs enable exercisers to periodically isolate the upper body while resting the legs.
With 20 resistance levels to meet the needs of all users, the xRide equips exercisers to perform leisurely rides or go all-out with a variety of training routines, from Beginner to 30:30 Interval, a challenging athletic program.
