Service Truck Crane Operator Certification Program Offered by Leading Training Company
Orlando, FL & Houston, TX (PRWEB) December 04, 2014 -- Service truck cranes are widely used for propane delivery, mining, heavy equipment assembly, repair, maintenance, service, as well as by local municipalities’ services workers. Although relatively small, these truck-mounted cranes are engaged in lifting operations covered by OSHA 1926 Subpart CC, which requires operators to be qualified or nationally certified, if they are involved with material handling at construction sites. With the regulations shaking up the world of service truck crane operators, Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB) has developed a training program to prepare them to pass the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) written and practical exams to become certified operators.
Service truck cranes are identified by their telescopic boom, where the base and mast structure are not integral to a stabilizer/outrigger system and lifting is typically accomplished via a winch (electric or hydraulic). These machines tend to have relatively shorter boom lengths and lower lifting capacities as compared to other Telescopic Boom—Fixed Cab machines (e.g., Boom Trucks, Carry Deck cranes). Additionally, operations are usually conducted by the use of radio remote or pendant control with the operator standing on the ground following the load.
