11-Year-Old Releases Christmas Song to Raise Money for Orphans
Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2014 -- It’s nearly Christmas, and shoppers are crowding malls. The economy is looking up. Millions of children across the U.S. will get tucked into bed Christmas Eve and awake to a beautiful Christmas tree crowded with presents.
Those kids are lucky. They have a home, loving parents and a happy home life that makes Christmas the kind of holiday we all know it should be.
But, that’s not every child’s story. Around the world, millions of children are living in orphanages or on the streets. These children don’t share the anticipation of Christmas Eve, the joy of Christmas morning, and the happiness of a holiday spent with a loving family.
Sadie Duca, an 11-year-old girl who lives in Carlsbad, California, was looking for a way to raise awareness about the plight of children less fortunate than herself. A talented singer and songwriter, Sadie decided the best way to do that was to write and perform an original holiday song.
“This Christmas” appeals to all of us, during this season of giving, to reflect on those less fortunate than ourselves and to find ways to make life a bit easier for our fellow human beings – especially children in need.
“I think everyone deserves love, especially on Christmas.”,says Sadie. “I look forward to donating the money, and helping others in need.”
The song is available for purchase on iTunes and 100% of the proceeds will go to orphans.

Worldwide, there are an estimated 153 million orphans who have lost at least one parent, and 17.9 million who have lost both parents and are living in orphanages or streets. According to the UNICEF, the orphans lack the care and attention required for healthy development.
