Andrew Berger of Tannenbaum Helpern’s Intellectual Property Practice Co-Founds and Chairs the Intellectual Property Institute
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 05, 2015 -- With more than 30 members from fifteen states and Canada, the Intellectual Property Institute begins its second year. All the members are fellows of the Litigation Counsel of America, an honorary society of trial lawyers who practice intellectual property litigation in firms across North America. The goal of the Intellectual Property Institute is to create a network of skilled attorneys to share winning trial strategies in intellectual property litigation and serve as a referral source for its members. Berger, Allen Hinderaker of Merchant & Gould and Kara Cenar of Bryan Cave are founding members. Berger has been selected to chair the governing board of the Intellectual Property Institute.
“I am proud to be a founding member of this institute, the only one of its kind devoted to advancing the interests of intellectual property trial lawyers. With the changing legal landscape and increased complexities of intellectual property litigation, it has become crucial for fellow attorneys to continuously help each other improved their trial skills and to build a skilled network of trusted referrals to effectively serve clients. As chair, I look forward to growing and shaping the institute to be a valuable resource for our members,” said Berger.
Berger has over 20 years of experience protecting the intellectual property of his clients from infringement and assisting them to monetize their intellectual property through licensing, joint ventures, sales and related transactions. He has litigated complex matters for clients such as the Government of Ecuador, the Women’s Professional Tennis Association, a Channel Islands investment company and a 2010 Academy Award winner. Andrew has held leadership positions in national intellectual property organizations, guests lectures on copyright at Cornell Law School and frequently writes and speaks about intellectual property topics before the bar and industry groups such as the Copyright Society, the PLI Advanced Program on Copyright Law, the Cornell Entrepreneur Network and The American Conference Institute.
