Movie fans invited to celebrate CinemaParadiso.co.uk 10-year anniversary
(PRWEB UK) 7 February 2014 -- The UK independent online DVD and Blu-ray rental company will celebrate the talent and achievements of a different film personality each day, over a 10-day period. Fans can share their opinions and memories of some of cinema’s greatest figures at http://www.facebook.com/CinemaParadiso, and existing customers will be treated to one free rental during February.
Now offering more than 75,000 film titles and TV series, retaining a strong commitment to the best in world cinema, Cinema Paradiso has expanded rapidly since its humble beginnings.
In 2005 the company bought Zoovies.net, and in the following year acquired DVDsToMe. In 2009 the consumer magazine Which? voted Cinema Paradiso as one of the top 5 online DVD rental services. Today Cinema Paradiso is the main DVD-by mail competitor to Lovefilm.com, and has recently enhanced its website features with a new search facility.
"Initially we offered world cinema, independent and art-house films to the UK market, then expanded our catalogue to include almost every title available for rental in the UK,” explains founder Zoran Dugandzic. “In the early days the demand for world cinema was limited but has grown significantly over the years, along with the increased interest in TV series."
"In recent years streaming services have become available, but our customers love to receive physical media by post. They love to watch their favourite films and TV series with high quality Blu-ray picture and sound. We’re dedicated to providing the best DVD and Blu-ray rental service now and in the future; and we will also explore the ways of digital download and streaming."
Throughout all the changes in industry trends and customer behaviour in the past 10 years, Cinema Paradiso has retained its independence, finding innovative ways to offer subscriptions starting from as little as £4.88 a month.
