Charter School Management Corporation Hires Tom Nichols as School Business Specialist

To support this expansion, CSMC has hired Tom Nichols as its School Business Specialist.
Charter School Management Corporation is pleased to announce that Tom Nichols is part of the expanding CSMC team as of August 11th as its School Business Specialist to focus on both Los Angeles area charter schools and schools nationwide. With over 25 years in public education and private industry management, Tom was most recently an integral part of the leadership of the Charter Schools Division of Los Angeles Unified School District.

Tom Nichols has over 25 years of experience in both public education and private industry management. He has spent the last six years in the Charter Schools Division (CSD) of Los Angeles Unified School District, a division which has authorized more charters than any other major urban school district in the country.
As a member of the CSD's leadership team, Tom collaborated with - and provided support to - a multitude of charter leaders, as they assessed and worked to improve instructional programs, operational systems, and organizational management. Recently, Tom coordinated and led the division's effort to refine its oversight practices, and was instrumental in developing consistency in the design, execution, and reporting on charter school oversight visits. Tom holds an MA in Educational Administration from California Lutheran, an Education Specialist teaching credential from Cal State Northridge, and a BA in Economics from UCLA.
As a School Business Specialist, he will be working closely with staff in CSMC’s Los Angeles office to support Los Angeles area charter schools on both financial issues and bringing his experience in oversight practices to aid all existing and new clients as well.
