Customers look to take advantage of Valentine’s Day 2015 falling on a weekend

Yorkshire based tour operator, SuperBreak, has reported increased traffic volumes over the last 4 weeks compared to last year for romantic breaks, as customers look to take advantage of Valentine’s Day 2015 falling on a weekend.

The firm are offering more than 70 1 or 2-night Valentine’s Day packages across a variety of key destinations in the UK starting from £74.50 per person. Customers will be able to choose from a choice of 2-4* hotels, with many of the packages also including breakfast, dinner and complimentary gifts of sparkling wine and chocolates. A 1-night Valentine’s Day package at The Falcon Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon with a full English breakfast, 3 course dinner, bottle of Prosecco and box of chocolates included starts from £94.50 per person.

The short break specialist also revealed that customers planning Valentine’s Day breaks are more likely to book last minute, with 41% of bookings for 2014 made in the last 4-weeks leading up to the occasion. This year’s sales for the firm are already looking encouraging as they report a +14% increase in revenue during the first two weeks of January compared to the same period last year.

Valentine’s Day breaks in 2014 saw London, Paris and Edinburgh as the most popular destinations booked through the tour operator, with 2015 already showing a similar trend. The firm’s 3rd highest grossing destination booked so far for a short break over the Valentine’s Day period is Reykjavik, showing that customers are not averse to choosing alternative romantic destinations over popular traditional ones.
