iPatientCare EHR Announces Enhanced Support for 2015 Medicare Chronic Care Management to Physician Users
Woodbridge, NJ (PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- iPatientCare, Inc., a pioneer in mHealth and cloud-based ambulatory EHR and integrated practice management solutions, announced its enhanced feature for supporting 2015 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule that includes a CPT Code for Chronic Care Management.
CMS developed this specific CPT Code to respond to the needs of primary care physicians in managing patients with at least two chronic conditions. Typically, physicians and their staff spend significant quality time in coordinating care to such patients. The 2015 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule shall pay $42.60 for 20 minutes of staff time. The code can be billed once per patient per calendar month.
“iPatientCare has been focused on providing an EHR that physicians and their clinical colleagues love to use. In fact, iPatientCare’s commitment to chronic care management is evident from its huge investment in preventative care management through clinical templates, customized treatment plans, order sets and integrated revenue optimization alerts. These enhanced features to support 99490 CPT code is in line with national policy priorities of spending on treating patients with multiple chronic conditions,” said Udayan Mandavia, President/CEO, iPatientCare.
One of the daunting tasks for the care providers would be to track the time spent by the staff and physicians who coordinate the care on the activities covered under the code.
Kedar Mehta, iPatientCare’s CTO and Chief Application Architect explained, “We have been evolving numerous flow sheets for tracking chronic care based on guidelines provided by American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) etc. since 2004. We enhanced these flow sheets to track the time spent in providing coordination of care for managing chronic conditions, and here we are with necessary tools that help iPatientCare users generate necessary documentation in support of CCM code.”
Jitender Jain, MD, one of the iPatientCare users, complimented iPatientCare for providing the time-tracking tools within the clinical documentation module and exclaimed with enthusiasm, “Job well done, iPatientCare!”
