Big Drum recognized in the Visual Branding/Identity and Paid Search/PPC categories

Big Drum has been named a finalist or winner every time the company has submitted an entry since 2003.

Big Drum, the B2B Conversion Agency located in Atlanta, was selected as finalist for two 2015 Atlanta Marketer of the Year (AMY) Awards presented by the Atlanta Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA).

The first selection was for Big Drum in the category of Visual Branding/Identity. This category recognizes the best overall strategy, design and implementation of a new or refreshed brand identity.

In September 2014, the new Big Drum brand emerged from search engine marketing agency Prominent Placement, which had been a mainstay in Atlanta marketing since 2001.

The rebrand was necessary since Prominent Placement’s services and the industry had evolved significantly over time. “Big Drum” reflects the company’s core belief that their clients deserve to have their messages clearly heard. The rebrand recharged the company’s image and, most importantly, it impacted revenue and closing rates.

The second selection was for Big Drum’s client Edgewater Fullscope in the category of Paid Search/PPC. This category recognizes the best paid search campaign to incorporate innovative pay-per-click campaign techniques to improve results.

Edgewater Fullscope is an award-winning Microsoft partner and reseller of Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and services. Its customers include discrete, mixed mode and process manufacturers. They have been a client of Big Drum since January 2009.

Over time, results for Edgewater Fullscope from Google AdWords started to fade as fewer prospects were converting (filling out an online form). ERP systems are very expensive and only replaced every 10 or 15 years, creating an extremely long sales cycle. Online searchers may be nearly a decade away from a purchase.

Big Drum moved the Edgewater Fullscope Paid Search budget away from Google AdWords to LinkedIn advertising. Rather than targeting keywords this campaign targeted individuals in LinkedIn groups. The LinkedIn campaign produced a 600% increase in conversion rates when compared to an identical Google AdWords campaign, all while decreasing the average daily spend.

Winners will be announced at the AMY Awards Gala on March 12, 2015 at the Fox Theatre. Each year the Atlanta Chapter of the AMA recognizes the best Atlanta marketing campaigns, where results have been extraordinary or the campaign itself was particularly creative.
