Resumes for Dummies provides the perfect opportunity for CDI to continue their mission of providing high-quality, up-to-date, value-added resume writing.

Career Directors International (CDI), a membership-based organization of resume writers and career coaches, is giving professional resume writers a new channel for exposure with a book being written by President Laura DeCarlo. DeCarlo, an award-winning and multi-certified resume writer for over two decades, has taken on the role of author of the 7th Edition of the book, Resumes for Dummies. In this she saw an opportunity to showcase professional resume writing and high quality resumes by extending a publishing opportunity exclusively to CDI member resume writers and career coaches.

DeCarlo says, “CDI is all about demonstrating excellence and strategic job seeker marketing in the writing of resumes. We’ve spent 14 years providing a benchmark for this quality with our TORI resume award competition. So, Resumes for Dummies provides the perfect opportunity to continue our mission of high-quality, up-to-date, value-added resume writing.”

CDI is putting out an all-call to their members to submit their professional resumes for possible publication in the sample resume chapters of this book. Such an exclusive opportunity means dramatically increased exposure for those whose resume samples are included.

Laura is looking for a variety of resumes for areas including:

  • By experience level: new graduates, young professional, mid-level professional, mature professional, and C-suite professional.
  • By profession: a variety of industries and career fields.
  • By challenge: employment gap, career change, too many similar positions, military-to-civilian transition, overqualified for job target, too many concurrent jobs, too many jobs in a short time, and too many layoffs.
