The Network Intelligence Alliance (NI Alliance), an industry organization promoting collaboration among vendors of products and solutions based on network intelligence, announced the winners of the Network Intelligence Awards 2015. These industry awards recognize and reward telecommunications companies that have successfully integrated network intelligence in Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) architectures.
Winners of the Network Intelligence Awards 2015 were selected by a jury composed of Gabriel Brown, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading, Joe Hoffman, Practice Director, Mobile Networks, ABI Research, Shira Levine, Directing Analyst, Service Enablement and Subscriber Intelligence, Infonetics Research, now part of IHS Inc., and Erik Larsson, Chairman of the NI Alliance. They are:
1. Best Technical Platform based on Network Intelligence for SDN/NFV: Telefónica for its NFV Reference Lab
2. Best Vendor Solution based on Network Intelligence for SDN/NFV: Overture for its Ensemble Service Intelligence (ESI)
3. Best Innovation based on Network Intelligence: Akamai with Saguna for their combined Network Aware Encrypted Content Optimization solution
The winners were announced yesterday in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress, at the Network Intelligence Alliance’s 5th annual VIP event.
“Network Intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in virtualized environments based on SDN and NFV,” said Erik Larsson, Chairman of the NI Alliance. “This year’s award applications show that all the leading players now have a strategy for leveraging intelligence from the network.”
