ThermiHealth Announces the Introduction of ThermiVa in North America to OB-GYNs
Southlake, TX (PRWEB) March 05, 2015 -- ThermiHealth today announces the launch of ThermiVa, an in-office, non-surgical treatment for OB-GYNs and Urogynecologists. ThermiVa is a unique temperature controlled radio frequency system, used for non-surgical dermatological application in aesthetics and other medical specialties. Physicians using ThermiVa are pleased to have a non-invasive, in-office procedure, and patients reporting excitement about a new treatment option for women who want results without surgery. ThermiVa was developed by ThermiGyn, a women’s wellness company whose mission is to help women reclaim, restore and revive.
The current market for vaginal tightening in the US alone is $2.4 billion with projections indicating its growth to exceed $7 billion in the next seven years. Projections also indicate that the aesthetics market is outgrowing the postpartum market. ThermiVa is uniquely positioned to treat areas of concern without pain or surgery.
“ThermiVa’s clinical assets and unique temperature controlled radiofrequency platforms hold remarkable potential for groundbreaking therapies,” says Red Alinsod, MD, FACOG. “Damage from vaginal birth and aging - including laxity and dryness - can diminish sensation during intercourse, reduce sexual satisfaction and change the relationship between partners. I have studied the effects of radiofrequency on tissues since 2005. I did my first tissue tightening with non-temperature controlled RF in 2005, and my first external RF tissue tightening treatments in 2009-2010. With this new temperature controlled technology there was no downtime and no discoloration. I noted a correlation between the amount of water tissues held and the tightening that was reported. Hence, I chose temperature controlled RF as the focus of my clinical research; and today find that it is the technology of choice for vulvovaginal treatments of the various conditions.”
To date, Dr. Alinsod has treated approximately 55 patients. Of the 15 women treated, early results show that 14 experienced a noticeable tightening effect on the labia and vagina after one treatment. All patients who have had two and three treatments reported significant tightening effects. 10 of the 15 patients have had three treatments and are extremely pleased with the noticeable tightening. There have been no complications, and all patients would recommend the procedure to others. All premenopausal and menopausal woman treated have had improvement in vaginal moisture and relief from atrophic vaginitis. 4 of 10 patients have experienced relief from incontinence.
