Cooksongold To Debut Live 3D Printing In Gold at Baselworld
(PRWEB UK) 10 March 2015 -- For the first time, UK precious metal and jewellery making supplier Cooksongold will feature live 3D printing in gold at Baselworld 2015.
The M 080 3D printer, purpose built for precious metal production, will be on show at Baselworld from March, 19th-26th, 2015. The machine will be printing throughout the day on the Heimerle + Meule Group booth 4.U/E26.
Utilising the power of 3D CAD design, the M 080 enables complex designs that have previously been constrained by manufacturing processes. The M 080 utilises a direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) process – whereby it builds precious metal designs layer by layer, melting fine metal powder with a laser. With this technology, intricate one-off 3D designs can be manufactured within a few hours.
As well as seeing the direct metal laser 3D printing technology in action, show attendees will be able to learn more about the M 080 and its technological capabilities. As well as see examples of jewellery produced on the Precious M 080.
David Fletcher, European Product Manager, said:
“We are really excited to be demonstrating our Direct Precious Metal 3D printing technology live at Baselworld. The M 080 machine is ground breaking in the jewellery and watch industry.
“We will be printing jewellery live at the world’s largest jewellery show each day, which will give visitors to the stand a first-hand view of how this technology is going to change the industry."
Developed by industry leader EOS, in collaboration with Cooksongold at its factory in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, the M 080 machine is now commercially available to buy, along with the Advanced Metal Powder developed specifically for the system.
At Cooksongold we are able to offer a complete supply triangle for aiding you in using the M 080, which is unique to Cooksongold. Our supply triangle consists of Process-Machine-Powder, all of which is paramount to enable users to take full advantage of this ground breaking 3D printing technology.
We offer this technology as a comprehensive e-manufacturing solution for those in the jewellery and watchmaking industries. This end-to-end manufacturing solution consists of bureau service, machine sales, powder production and sales, finance options, maintenance, repairs and training.
