Pyramid Solutions to Collaborate with Altera to Enable EtherNet/IP Functionality Across Systems, Platforms and Environments
Bingham Farms, MI (PRWEB) March 23, 2015 -- Pyramid Solutions’ Network Connectivity and Intelligent Manufacturing Business (NCIM), a leading solutions and technology provider, and Altera Corporation have announced they will be collaborating to give customers the ability to add EtherNet/IP™ Scanner (Client) functionality to their factory and industrial products using the Pyramid Solutions’ Ethernet/IP Scanner Development Kit (ESDK) and Altera™ Cyclone® V field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The two companies will enable a single-chip integrated Industrial Ethernet Protocol to help customers rapidly launch new products.
Pyramid Solutions’ ESDK is a cross-platform development package that includes a feature rich EtherNet/IP Scanner Class software protocol stack that provides I/O Server, I/O Client, Message Server & Message Client functionality. The ESDK software stack exposes an Application Programming Interface (API) for using Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) over standard Ethernet and TCP/IP.
