Food for the Hungry and Teach Them Diligently Form Partnership
(PRWEB) March 31, 2015 -- Food for the Hungry (FH), a leader in innovative, biblically-rooted responses to hunger and poverty, and Teach Them Diligently, the nation’s premier source for events related to Christian homeschooling, discipleship, and parenting, are thrilled to announce a partnership.
“We are excited to bring the message and reputation of Food for the Hungry to more than 40,000 participants that will attend one of our four 2015 events,” said convention founder David Nunnery. “For decades Food for the Hungry has served and helped the poor and hungry in developing countries. At Teach Them Diligently, Christian parents and homeschoolers have a responsibility to educate their children on caring for the hungry across the world. The partnership between Food for the Hungry and Teach Them Diligently will provide ample opportunity and occasion for parents to institute service into their home discipleship.”
Rather than providing handouts, FH addresses the root issues of poverty by empowering the communities it serves. The end result is lasting solutions that help those communities to stand on their own without outside assistance. Attendees of the Teach Them Diligently conferences will be able to talk with FH staff to better understand how they can help end poverty through child sponsorships.
“Food for the Hungry’s child sponsorship program is a unique, child-focused community transformation program,” said Jeremy Reis of Food for the Hungry. “We connect children in poor communities with a sponsor in the U.S., which brings physical and spiritual transformation to many.”
Upcoming conferences are in Atlanta (April 9-11); Sandusky, Ohio (May 28-30) and Dallas, Texas (July 16-18).
The Teach Them Diligently convention is sponsored by Worldwide Tentmakers, a missions agency based in Greenville, SC. According to Nunnery, a homeschool father of four, the appeal is in Teach Them Diligently’s biblical focus:
“Homeschooling has grown exponentially in the last decade – both in Christian and non-Christian homes. For families looking to build their children’s education on a biblical foundation, Teach Them Diligently is a great place to prepare their academic strategies and meet other folks looking to do the same thing.”
