Pivos Releases TOFULinux for the XIOS Series Media Players
Fremont, CA (PRWEB) April 17, 2015 -- The TOFU Media OS is Pivos’ latest release sprouted from the highly acclaimed XBMC platform. The Linux variation was built to target today’s growing entertainment needs in our community.

Ahmed explains, "The difference with TOFU Media OS and TOFULinux is that its not Android based, though this means loss of the ability to run Android apps, yet removing the overhead of the Android layer allows for an overall more responsive user experience. TOFULinux maintains wide compatibility with popular Kodi add-ons, is PnP compatible with Pivos Vue LightPack*, outputs 1080p video natively* and is also 24p capable*".
Shortly after sponsoring the XBMC Android port, Pivos released XIOS DS XBMC Linux port which turned out to be extremely popular not only for our original XIOS DS Media Player but also as a base for many other ports on non-Pivos devices. As Pivos developed the TOFU Media OS for our latest XIOS XS, our community in large has requested a Linux variation since the XS launch. Our developers responded in support of making this a reality this Spring.
Bringing TOFULinux beyond XIOS XS to all hardware revisions of the XIOS DS Media Player is setting a hard to beat three years record of our continuous support for the original development platform of the official XBMC Android port.
