American Football Association Hall of Famer (Class of 1983) Ray Stanton, Sr. Inducted into Inaugural Class of the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall Of Fame
Binghamton, New York (PRWEB) April 25, 2015 -- American Football Association (Class of 1983) Hall of Famer Ray Stanton, Sr. was inducted into inaugural class of the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall Of Fame on April 20 along with 15 other inductees at the Double Tree by Hilton on Water Street in Binghamton.
Ray Stanton was honored for his accomplishments as founder of and player for the TC Jets. Ray played on and coached the team from 1970 to 1978 and then coached again in 1997 and 1998. In describing how the team was established, Ray stated that, "In 1970 I went to a league meeting in Oneonta and discovered they needed another franchise; I came back to Binghamton and started the original Triple Cities Jets and stayed with the team through '78. I brought the BC Jets back with my son as quarterback in the late 90s. So I've been at it a long time and I’ve really enjoyed it."
Through his efforts, Ray Stanton provided an opportunity for thousands of athletes in the Binghamton community to continue playing organized football after high school/college.
