National American University Expands Paralegal Program Offerings to Colorado, New Mexico and Texas Areas
Rapid City, South Dakota (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- National American University (NAU) is excited to announce the addition of the Bachelor of Science and the Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies at the following campuses: Albuquerque (NM), Albuquerque West (NM), Austin (TX), Austin South (TX) Colorado Springs (CO), Colorado Springs South (CO), Georgetown (TX), Houston (TX), Lewisville (TX), Mesquite (TX) and Richardson (TX).
The Paralegal program at NAU will be directed in these new locations by experienced faculty and local legal professionals, who will serve as members of local program advisory boards. Most of the courses offered through the Paralegal Studies program will be delivered in a classroom environment taught by working attorneys who bring their knowledge of the current activities in the legal field.
“I believe the role of the Paralegal program in these new areas is to be a hub of intellectual thought. With this expansion, the Paralegal program is not just looking to educate individuals in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico on substantive law topics, but rather NAU is looking to become part of the legal communities in these new geographic areas,” said Brian Gravely, System Chair for the Legal Studies Department at NAU.
National American University is committed to providing practical and innovative education for future professionals. These new program offerings will help to prepare individuals for the paralegal profession, a job field that is expected to grow by 17% in the next few years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Students in the program will have access to online legal research tools as well as curriculum that is designed to train modern legal professionals. Students in this program will not only learn substantive law from experienced attorneys in the classrooms, but most students will also spend time in an internship learning practical skills in the field. “As a practical skills-focused institution we want to be a part of the professional environment we are sending our students into,” said Gravely.
