Dade Moeller Awarded Master Agreement for Industrial Hygiene Services from Oregon Department of Transportation
RICHLAND, Wash. (PRWEB) May 13, 2015 -- The Oregon Department of Transportation has awarded Dade Moeller a master agreement for industrial hygiene services with a period of performance of 2 years. Under the agreement, the Oregon Department of Transportation can access Dade Moeller’s expertise on a variety of occupational health and safety services, including testing, sampling, monitoring, and identifying hazardous conditions that may impact the health of the department’s Region 5 employees. Region 5 covers eastern Oregon and includes the counties of Morrow, Umatilla, Wallowa, Union, Grant, Baker, Harney, and Malheur.
According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, more than half of its 4,000 statewide employees are exposed to health and physical hazards through activities such as road construction and maintenance, vegetation control, and large fleet maintenance and repair. The department performed its own industrial hygiene services until January 2011, when its certified industrial hygienist position was eliminated due to downsizing.
Dade Moeller brings to bear more than two decades of experience in ensuring the health and safety of workers at some of the most hazardous worksites in the country, including at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hanford nuclear site in eastern Washington. The firm’s certified industrial hygienists and industrial hygiene technicians are well qualified to support the Oregon Department of Transportation in protecting its employees from a variety of hazards, including occupational exposures to mold, bacteria, asbestos, and lead, as well as to welding fumes like hexavalent chromium. Dade Moeller also stands ready to support the department in developing hazard control plans, reviewing proposed new chemicals, and providing advanced technical training to employees.
This is Dade Moeller’s first master agreement with the Oregon Department of Transportation.
