Arkitektura Announces Groundbreaking Online Design Magazine
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 15, 2015 -- Arkitektura Assembly, the unique design event series, expands into an eponymous online magazine format. The magazine includes profile interviews with Bay Area architects and interior designers and long format audio interviews with the world’s leading designers through the podcast Design In Mind.
Arkitektura Assembly is the cultural arm of San Francisco based design showroom, Arkitektura, which has been at the heart of contemporary design in the U.S. for the last 30 years.
Arkitektura is the only showroom in the U.S., and maybe world, that can boast a world class event series, magazine and podcast. The company started with a love and passion for design and that is continuing to be expressed using new tools and technologies: online and mobile audio.
“Arkitektura Assembly is born from our passion for design and the overwhelming success of our design event series which since its inception last year has hosted the likes of Tom Dixon, Jaime Hayon, Naoto Fukasawa, John Maeda and most recently Martino Gamper and Sam Hecht. Today, we proudly announce the expansion of our live event series and create a permanent location for our passion for design and the conversation around it.” Andrew Fisher, President and C.E.O., Arkitektura
With the creation of the Design In Mind podcast, Arkitektura takes the opportunity of today’s mobile technology and marries it with the ancient art of listening. Working with a veteran BBC and NPR journalist, Design In Mind presents long format candid conversations with the world’s leading design practitioners and thinkers.
Each episode brings an intimate conversation that aims to reveal the person behind the work. In an age of soundbite and image, Arkitektura is excited to dive deep into the hearts and minds of these thinkers, unearthing the ways in which they see the world, and why.
Assembly reveals some of the behind the scene workings of one of the most important furniture showrooms in the U.S. and beyond. Through offering perspectives on new product launches, to interviews with the designers and architects Arkitektura works with, the magazine expands the offerings of showroom and provides readers an insight into the workings of this creative world.
Never before has a showroom developed a magazine and a podcast series but we believe in the beauty, power and wonder of design and feel that the best way to communicate that is through events, articles and a podcast.
Arkitektura Assembly was conceived by the showroom’s President and C.E.O. Andrew Fisher, a graduate of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, who was one of the first U.S. retailer to bring over 60 leading international brands such as B&B Italia, Minotti and Cappellini to an American audience. He is respected industry-wide for his 30-year relationship with the world’s foremost contemporary design companies.
