Greenberg Traurig’s Patricia Rosendahl Presides Over the Houston Bar Association’s First Equine Law Seminar
HOUSTON (PRWEB) May 15, 2015 -- Patricia M. Rosendahl, of counsel in the Houston office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, recently presided over the first Equine Law Seminar ever held by the Houston Bar Association. The seminar covered a broad range of issues of interest to members of the horse community, equine businesses and ranches, and law enforcement, including stable keeper liens, the Texas Farm Animal Limitation of Liability Act, horse theft and estrays, the purchase and sale of horses, polo, breeding contracts, and how insurance can protect both owner and horse.
Program speakers included attorneys experienced in equine law, representatives of agencies charged with enforcement of statutes and regulations applicable to horses, and an equine insurance expert. The program highlight was a presentation by Gene Snelson, the general counsel of the Texas Animal Health Commission on equine rules for 2015. The Houston Polo Club hosted the event, and Greenberg Traurig provided technical equipment and support.
“The legal issues and concerns of the equine community are often overlooked,” said Rosendahl. “I was privileged to be a part of this event that so effectively addressed important equine community issues.”
“We are proud of Tricia for her role in supporting the equine community in Texas, and applaud her contributions to the Animal Law Section of the Houston Bar,” said Douglas C. Atnipp, Greenberg Traurig co-regional operating shareholder for Texas and co-managing shareholder of the firm’s Houston office. “At Greenberg Traurig, we believe in giving back to the community, and the equine community has been a part of Texas history since its beginnings.”
Rosendahl has served as a board member of the Houston Bar Association Animal Law Section for the past three years and will serve as secretary in the coming year. She has been involved with the horse community for years and previously competed in local hunter/jumper events. Her law practice focuses on commercial litigation, contract review, construction litigation, environmental matters, and international dispute resolution. She has wide-ranging experience in oil and gas litigation, securities litigation, Internet disputes, railroad law, and admiralty law, as well as consumer finance and insurance coverage disputes.
