Connecticut Insurance Agency to Host Flag Exchange
STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT (PRWEB) June 02, 2015 -- Paradiso Financial & Insurance Services, a Stafford Springs, Connecticut-based independent insurance agency, is promoting community patriotism and the American Spirit with its 2015 United States Flag Exchange. Local residents can bring their faded or tattered flags to the agency during Flag Week, June 8-12, and receive a complementary replacement. Those without an American flag can receive a flag and mounting kit at no charge.
Chris Paradiso, CPIA, agency principal, says, "People died to protect Old Glory. We want to honor their sacrifice with a meaningful display of patriotism in our town and surrounding Connecticut communities. The more flags we see flying, the more meaningful their sacrifices become.” He points out the flags being offered through this exchange are 100% American made.
Paradiso Insurance is promoting the exchange through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag, #flagsfromparadisoins.
“People can join us by tweeting or tagging photos with that hashtag, so we can get the word out to others in our community,” Paradiso explains. He encourages individuals and businesses to share and tag photos of other local displays of patriotism.
“We’re conducting this special program for our community,” Paradiso explains. “When we drive or walk by homes in our neighborhood, I want all of us—including our children—to see a terrific display of our true American spirit and pride.” The independent insurance agency is distributing flyers that local businesses can display to encourage their customers to take part.
New flags will be available at the agency at 8 Main Street, Stafford, Connecticut, during normal business hours.
“Simply stop by with your old, worn flag,” Paradiso says. “We’ll provide a brand new one. And if you already have a flag, stop by for a ‘100% Made in the USA’ American Flag lapel pin or a T-shirt.”
Last year, the agency gave away 247 flags, 89 flag kits, 160 pins and 100 T-shirts. It hopes to increase its reach this year and distribute 350 flags, 150 kits, 250 pins and 100 shirts. It also will properly dispose of old flags through the American Legion, which conducts an official ceremony to respectfully retire unsuitable flags.
Residents visiting the insurance agency on Fridays leading up to Flag Day can enjoy an extra dose of Paradiso-style American spirit.
“Our staff will be dressed in red, white and blue every Friday between now and Flag Day to help promote this great cause,” Paradiso notes. “We’d love our neighbors to stop in for a photo or just to visit.” The agency also will host a cookout at its office on June 12, the Friday before Flag Day, which will include a visit by Eastern Connecticut’s hit music station, i98.3. “Don’t forget to wear your red, white and blue to that event,” he adds.
