Franklin County Visitors Bureau Announces Winners of Photo Contest, Release of New Visitors Guide
Chambersburg, PA (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- The Franklin County Visitors Bureau has announced the winners of their annual photography contest with the release of the 2015 Visitors Guide.
The contest, which asks its participants to capture the essence of Franklin County in photographs, had over 175 entries this year, and had the grand prize of $250 and being featured as the cover for their 2015 Visitors Guide.
Beautiful scenery, local wildlife and picturesque moments in Franklin County were among the photographs submitted, which made it difficult to choose a winner.
Local amateur photographer Vince Ha took the top prize with his photograph of a barn and field of sunflowers off Route 914 around sunset. The photograph is now the cover of the recently released 2015 Visitors Guide, which features the things to do, places to dine and places to stay in Franklin County.

Another local amateur photographer Pam John took home the top prize for the fresh food category, which asked for creative photographs of fresh food products grown or produced in Franklin County and included plated foods. Her photograph, of her granddaughter “taste testing” a cucumber being grown in a backyard garden, charmed judges.
Ha also took home a prize in the fresh food category for a fresh salad made with Franklin County ingredients including strawberries, cucumbers, greens and cheese.
In addition to the new Visitors Guide, Franklin County Visitors Bureau will be unveiling their updated website,http://www.explorefranklincountypa.com, with beautiful new photographs, easier accessibility for places to stay, restaurants to eat, and activities to do. The website should go live later this week.
