Los Gatos Restaurants Make World-Class Wines More Accessible to Novices and Connoisseurs Alike

Wine Spectator Magazine recently announced that RNR Group restaurants Centonove and Cin-Cin Wine Bar and Restaurant have each received its Award of Excellence. The publication's prestigious annual wine list awards recognize restaurants with “interesting wine selections that are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.”

Certified sommelier Lisa Rhorer oversees the wine lists at both restaurants, which she owns with Pasquale Romano. A focus on bringing people together through wine and food, as well as knowledgeable and down-to-earth staff who are passionate about helping guests expanding their palates, make Centonove and Cin-Cin destinations for wine lovers at all levels. A large selection of wines by the glass and bottle at both restaurants make it easy for guests to try a variety of wines.

The goal for Centonove’s unique wine list is to transport guests to Italy, even if it is for just one night. With more than 500 grape varietals with names that are hard to pronounce, people are often intimidated by Italian wine. The more than 100 wines on Centonove’s list – influenced by Rhorer’s travels across Italy while attending cooking school in Tuscany – are chosen to be approachable for people trying non-California wines for the first time, yet exciting for the Italian wine connoisseur. Opened in November 2014, this is the first year that Centonove has been recognized with the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.

Cin-Cin Wine Bar and Restaurant
The Cin-Cin wine philosophy is to expand its guests’ palates, while complementing the layered flavors and textures in its cuisine. Featuring more than 100 wines, the list has been influenced by Rhorer’s travels to Austria, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Wines from Napa, Oregon, Sonoma and the Santa Cruz mountains have also earned a place on the menu. This marks the third year that Cin-Cin has been recognized with an Award of Excellence.

“The food, wine and beer selections at both of our restaurants are handpicked, and we pride ourselves on offering warm and lively gathering places where people can enjoy them with friends and family,” said Rhorer. “It is an honor to be recognized by Wine Spectator for something we love to do.”
