J. Walter Thompson Welcomes Manir Fadel in Global ECD Role
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 13, 2015 -- J. Walter Thompson announced today the appointment of Manir Fadel as a new Global Executive Creative Director. Fadel will be based in London and report directly to Matt Eastwood, J. Walter Thompson Company’s Worldwide Chief Creative Officer. Fadel will join J. Walter Thompson this fall, and will be based in London.
In his new role, one of Fadel’s first opportunities will be in elevating the creative product of the Sunsilk brand, as well as contributing to new business pitches across the network.
Eastwood said of Fadel’s appointment, “Manir joins us with the creative pedigree that we are looking for to further strengthen the creative power of our network. He makes work that clients love and, most importantly, that people connect with.”
Fadel, 42, joins J. Walter Thompson from an 11-year tenure at São Paulo’s Lew’LaraTBWA. Fadel started at the agency as a Copywriter, but through years of outstanding and award-winning creative work, he rose to the role of Partner and Chief Creative Officer. His works span across ambient, branded content, design, digital, direct, film, integrated, media, out-of-home, print, promo and radio, and he has lent his creative talent to brands like Gatorade, Visa, Nissan, Adidas, Save the Children, Banco do Brasil and Vale.
“I am excited to join J. Walter Thompson at such an important time in its evolution,” Fadel said of his new role. “As Matt shapes the Company’s creative future, I am eager to help him and the network achieve every goal they have set in their creative crosshairs. I am thrilled to work alongside such an ambitious leader, and am eager to join a company with such a rich heritage and strong reputation for innovation.”
Fadel was ranked among the 10 most awarded Creative Directors at Cannes Lions 2010, and throughout his 20 years in advertising, he has received the most-coveted awards in the industry, including Cannes Lions, Effie Awards, D&AD, One Show, IPA, Gunn Report and Clio, and awards from local Brazil festivals like CCSP and Prêmio Abril.
In 2014, Fadel stood on the Advertising Jury for the Art Directors Club’s 93rd Annual Awards and Tomorrow Awards. In 2012, he acted as a member of the Print Jury at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Prior to joining Lew’LaraTBWA in 2004, he spent time as a Copywriter at DM9DDB, and then as a Creative Director at Ogilvy.
