HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Announces Celebrity Guest Appearances at 16th Annual Walk/Run Event
Fremont, California (PRWEB) September 08, 2015 -- HERS Breast Cancer Foundation today announced that Ben Zorn, a popular contestant on ABC’s reality TV show “The Bachelorette,” will attend their annual 5k Walk, 5k/10k Run, and Community Expo on September 26 at the Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont, California.
Mr. Zorn is a fitness professional in San Jose, and played football for San Jose State, graduating in 2012. He will share his message about the healing power of proper exercise and nutrition with the event’s participants, which include breast cancer survivors and their supporters. Mr. Zorn will help kick off the event alongside Heather Holmes, KTVU anchor, who will be the event’s MC. Mr. Zorn and Ms. Holmes will join with organizers and participants to celebrate survivors and honor those lost in an inspirational opening ceremony. Mr. Zorn will then accompany participants along the trail, offering encouragement and support to racers and walkers.
Mr. Zorn has garnered a devoted following among Bay Area fans of ABC’s long-running hit reality show. He was one of the final seven contestants on last season’s show, and is considered a fan favorite. As he moves on to pursue his successful career as a fitness professional, he intends to parlay his popularity into a chance to inspire others to find a better life through a holistic approach to fitness. Mr. Zorn lost his mother to cancer when he was a teenager, and has remained committed to honoring her memory by following and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Walk/Run event, now in its 16th year, is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year. In addition to supporting services for breast cancer survivors, this event celebrates the lives of people who have survived breast cancer and remembers those we've lost.
The event website at http://hersbreastcancerfoundation.org/walk-run/ provides information for donors and participants. This web site allows participants to register online and set up their personalized online fundraising page. HBCF is again partnering with the Crowdrise participant fundraising system to facilitate and promote fundraising by participants. The East Bay Community Foundation will be matching online donations up to $15,000.
The 16th Annual Walk/Run event supports the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation mission to support all women healing from breast cancer by providing important post-surgical products and services, regardless of the survivor’s financial status. All proceeds from the event will be used to benefit HBCF programs and services.
